In 2016, HB 4625 was introduced in the West Virginia House. This legislation sought to redirect certain racing and gaming revenues from greyhound development funds to the State Road Fund. The bill passed in the House by a vote of 61-36.
Also in 2016, SB 641 was introduced in the West Virginia Senate. This legislation sought to transfer revenues from certain greyhound racing funds to the State Excess Lottery Revenue Fund. This bill passed in the Senate by a vote of 29-5.
